One of my goals is to find avenues to teach the core essence, the guiding principles, and specific ways to incorporate the incredible benefits from the field of prenatal and perinatal psychology, energy psychology,and integrated early development. Specifically to help various professionals groups, organizations, practitioners,and interested persons to incorporate these benefits and information into their unique profession and life.

The material is so profound, so relevant, and offers new hope of how we can prevent early traumas and constrictive life patterns and how we can support wholeness and self-actualizing patterns from the very beginning of life. It holds a beautiful message that speaks to new avenues to meet our deepest needs to be seen, heard, respected, loved,safe, and included from the beginning of life.

Whether we are working with adults or with children and young families, PPN gives a new lens to view our patterns, challenges, and health issues. We each have an imprinted story of how we move forward in life­­ formed during our birth and bonding experience. It becomes the script for how we move from intention and initiation through our life experiences towards our future and goals. That script has an intricacy that plays out time and time again in our lives. Those imprints can give us confidence and a sustained drive with an inner knowing that we CAN DO THIS and it will be good or it can undermine what we consciously wish to pursue.  We can want something, yet keep finding ourselves stuck in a repeated “glitch” in effectively moving towards obtaining it. This fundamental cycle of intention to completion plays out many times a day as well as over the years as we move our life.
This workshop focuses on understanding the key nodal points in the process of moving towards fulfilling a goal effectively and how our birth experience directly establishes the subconscious programming we rely on in our daily lives.
You will learn to identify, assess, and work with life-diminishing patterns in your energy psychology practice to help clients restore their innate ability to move from intention to fulfillment feeling confident, optimistic and supported by their own sustained inner energy until their goal is accomplished.
You will also have the opportunity to work own constrictive imprinted patterns utilizing a TAT Group Healing Process. The workshop concludes with Q & A on incorporating this material into your energy psychology practice.

During the 21st century, our understandings of the multidimensional nature of reality, human nature, communication, and healing applicable throughout the human lifespan has been expanding. Prenatal and perinatal psychology (PPN) findings provide a response to the questions raised by those studying consciousness during adulthood and childhood about the development of our multidimensional nature and abilities, such as intuitive perception.

PPN findings demonstrate that transcendental awareness and many of our multidimensional abilities are present as we come into human life, not dependent on the development of the human brain, and that portray a constancy of transcendental abilities and being throughout life. Decades of prenatal and birth-oriented clinical findings, suggest that a multidimensional view of early human development best describes this developmental period.

In my book, Welcoming Consciousness, I develop a new model of early development and describe the Integrated Self as a holographic, holonomic nonlinear dynamic self-organizing system of being that has a spectrum of awareness and experience. This workshop will introduce key clinical findings and the Integrated Model that help us understand wholeness, our own spirituality and relationship we have with our non-physical SELF, and the potential core life-diminishing patterns that may have been set in motion during the prenatal and birth experiences. Unresolved Birth: Mothers, Babies & Dads–Healing and Transforming at Any Age with Energy Psychology (EFT, TAT, and more)
A One-Day Pre-Conference Workshop on November 11 with Dr. McCarty

Unresolved birth experiences can leave a cascade of symptoms and constrictive-to-disabling life-patterns that diminish human potential and the parent-child relationship in subtle or profound ways for years to come. In this workshop, Dr. McCarty weaves prenatal and perinatal psychology (PPN) understandings and energy psychology healing modalities (EFT, TAT, more) to work effectively and efficiently with unresolved birth. Participants learn the essentials to identify unresolved birth in mother/dad and baby at various stages of life and experience healing their own unresolved birth utilizing these tools during workshop. Demonstration, clinical stories, and case management as well as plenty of Q & A are included. These approaches can be utilized and incorporated into any PPN and healing practice and are readily taught to families to empower their own transformation.

I tried for years to get past the terrible birth experience I had with my son. No therapy seemed to clear away the grief and anger I had over the loss of the beautiful birth experience I had planned on having. My son is healthy. Wasn’t I supposed to be happy with that? Why couldn’t I get over it? Then, when my son was 17 years old, I had a session with Wendy Anne McCarty. Through the TAT process she guided me through the pain to a place of peace with my birth experience. The pain and PTSD symptoms were resolved after that one session. Being with Babies: What Babies Are Teaching Us
Supporting Babies’ Integrated Wholeness from the Beginning of Life

One weekend 12-hour course specifically designed forever yo ne involved with babies from preconception through infancy: Health professionals, midwives, nurses, doulas,psychotherapists, lactation consultants, childbirth and parent educators, social workers, early childhood specialists,and other healing arts practitioners who support families having their babies.

The field of prenatal and perinatal psychology has been mapping our life in the womb, birth,and early infancy from the baby’s point of view. New understandings demonstrate babies are conscious, aware, learning intensely,and communicating meaningfully from the beginning of life. Therapeutic work with babies reveals new ways to support wholeness and to understand and help babies’ stress patterns.

This dynamic and interactive seminar provides a new lens, a way of perceiving babies that can be effectively added to all interactions and interventions with babies and children.

We stand at the threshold of a newer a of understanding how to best help babies in the womb and at birth create an optimal blueprint for life. During the 20th century, we gained an immense understanding of infant development and optimal early conditions as technologies enabled avenues of investigation such as the contribution of brain imagining to understanding the critical relationship of social-emotional experience to brain development; and, ultrasound imaging’contribution to understanding babies meaningful behavior in the womb. The vital importance of our earliest experiences in the womb and at birth for lifelong health and well-being is increasing supported.

Now the next level of understanding and knowledge of babies is emerging from the field of prenatal and perinatal psychology. Documented clinical experience with babies has revealed babies’ capabilities to be conscious, aware, and communicative (even in early prenatal life) far beyond what has been recognized until recently.

During the 20th century, we focused on the ‘biologically based’ infant development. Our understanding of babies in the 21st century now grows to appreciate that CONSCIOUSNESS is central to understanding and supporting babies to flourish and grow in our evolving world. LarryDossey, M.D., in his book, Reinventing Medicine:Beyond Mind-Body to a New Era of Healing, leads us to comprehend the value of medicine that reorients us to include CONSCIOUSNESS. Now we begin to reorient our perceptions, conceptions, and ways of being with babies towards the greater connection between mind-body-spirit from the beginning of human life. New possibilities of optimizing human potential even in the womb are emerging when we bring consciousness into our model and our ways of being with babies.

During this course, participants will:
-Experience subjective changes in state of being associated with moving into slower, more coherent state during centering exercise.
-Gain familiarity with the field of prenatal and perinatal psychology (PPN) by being introduced to the field’history, key principles, and clinical examples.
-Learn to differentiate models of early development and be introduced to:
A new model of development and its key principles that integrate mind-body-spirit and PPN research and clinical findings,
Theoretical and clinical frameworks that hold integrated model.
-Gain appreciation of the importance of self-reflection of practitioner beliefs about babies and early development and of working with own implicit life-patterns associated with own early experience.
-Gain familiarity with the clinical research and theoretical framework of our sentient nature from the beginning of life.
-Learn key early imprinting experiences that can lead to life enhancing or trauma based development.

Compelling Implications form Prenatal and Perinatal Clinical Experience and Research

This dynamic and interactive seminar provides a “PRIMER” in prenatal and perinatal psychology. New research indicates womb/birth/bonding experiences profoundly shape our subconscious,brain, emotional, physical and relationship orientation. Growing evidence relates many adult dysfunctional/trauma patterns to our earliest experiences. Participants learn to identify key potential early imprints and later identifiable life patterns.

Our prenatal and birth experience and ensuing blueprint form our subconscious programming, which functions as automatically as our heart and breath. This core infrastructure determines our very perceptions, conceptions, and beliefs we have about our world, our relationships, and ourselves.

How we are conceived, carried, and birthed matters greatly. As we learn to identify and understand key early blueprints,a whole new realm of understanding of current patterns emerges. We become more empowered to heal the limiting patterns. By recognizing, acknowledging, and healing constrictive core early imprinting, we become freer to discover more of who we are and help others become more of who they are.

Attention is given to how this new lens of prenatal and perinatal psychology can strengthen and expand assessment and intervention in a wide variety of healing art practices. Practitioners are encouraged to examine their own early experience and current beliefs and patterns.

During this course, participants will:

-Gain awareness of the importance of addressing adult patterns as becoming parents.

-Learn, experience, and practice utilizing one energy psychology tool (EFT) for working with PPN patterns.

A third course is available and can be modified as a third day to the weekend seminars, or as a separate workshop. It can be given as a one-day as described below. The weekend seminars offer more extensive theoretical understanding and video therapeutic vignettes for more in-depth study of the impact of prenatal and perinatal period and ways of being with babies. This workshop is to learn an energy psychology healing modality to work with current issues utilizing a prenatal and perinatal perspective.

Healing Early Prenatal/Birth Stress Patterns:
Utilizing Energy Psychology Tools

I offer this workshop because I find the combination of the prenatal and perinatal psychology perspective along with EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) process to be highly successful in helping people change. I utilize EFT very effectively in working with adults, parents, children, and babies to work a wide variety of issues and problems. It can be used in person or by phone. It can be easily taught to families for follow-up at home. I find it very empowering and gentle at the same time. I’m very excited about the new possibilities of healing more elegantly than ever. This 6-hour workshop provides practitioners with basic assessment and specific re patterning tools to identify and release life-diminishing/dysfunctional patterns anchored in our earliest imprinted prenatal and perinatal experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to examine and practice energy psychology tools with their own prenatal and perinatal material.

Participants in this one-day seminar receive:
-Brief introduction to prenatal and perinatal psychology and key principles
-Learn key nodal key early imprinting experiences that lead to life-enhancing or diminishing patterns
-Receive prenatal and perinatal assessment/history form
-Introduction to the field of energy psychology
-Introduction to the specific healing tool, EFT
-Observe Dr. McCarty utilize EFT to work with prenatal and perinatal issues
-Utilize EFT in practice sessions with own early imprinting
-Integration-mapping and addressing life themes and patterns with EFT
-Discussion of application in participant’s practices and personal use

As we learn to identify and understand key early blueprints,a whole new realm of understanding of current patterns emerges. We become more empowered to heal the limiting patterns. By recognizing, acknowledging, and healing constrictive core early imprinting, we become freer to discover more of who we are and help others become more of who they are.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a very powerful effective and easy tool to learn and incorporate in one’s personal life and into any healing/supporting practice. EFT is a unique emotional form of acupuncture. While the person tunes into the problem, they tap a series of acupressure points. This system addresses the structure of how the problem is held in the person’s energy system. It ‘unlocks’ the problematic patterns and helps to restore the innate growth-oriented flow of energy. People then naturally move towards more life-enhancing thoughts, feelings,choices, and actions.
